Auto Resetting Smallbore Target - Home Gallery or for the Range
This target is auto resetting. The top five 2.25" diameter targets can be reset by shooting the lower five 2.25" diameter targets. Target was tested with the following .22 caliper Ammunition:
Aguila Super Powderless which has a muzzle velocity of 550 feet per second - Cycle Target 100% distance 15 to 20 feet. - Cartridge had very little power since it has no gunpowder it just uses primer gases instead of gun powder - Could be a effective Gallery .22 Ammunition for those with limited space
CCI CB Shorts and Longs which have a muzzle velocity of 700 feet per second - Cycled Target 100% distance 20 to 30 feet - Just slightly more noise that the Aguila but still sounded like a pellet gun - Seemed to cycle targets better that the Aguila Ammunition
Remington SubSonic and Winchester .22 Shorts which have muzzle velocity of around 1050 feet per second -Cycled Target 100% distance 20 yards -Much louder than the CCI CB Shorts or CCI CB Longs
Standard .22 Long Rifle Ammunition. -Loudest of all Ammunition somewhat louder than the Remington SubSonic -Cycled 100% at 40 to 50 yards -2.25" diameter targets get small at 40 to 50 yards May require a scope for those with weak eyes of if target is placed at a further distance -100 yards would be fantastic for a scoped rifle
Target may cycle with High Powered Air Guns (since some have velocities of 1200 feet per second and greater) but we didn't have one on hand to test. Shooting target less than 40 yards with a Standard .22 Long Rifle cartridge should be avoided since this round does pack quite a bit of power and does hit very hard. As you can see in the picture of the target system all surfaces are at an angle to deflect downward and to increase the targets resistance to damage such as slope armor is used in the Armed Forces. Target is manufactured from 1/4" thick Carbon Steel Plate in all areas including the 2.25 diameter targets. The 2.25" diameter targets can all be remove by sliding out the .5" round rod that holds them in place. This is a very heavy duty target system which weights approximately 40 pounds should last forever. It is up to the purchaser to use this target safely and remember to always wear safety glasses.
